Tim Stewart is a gay Songwriter, musician and producer based in Auckland New Zealand.
He sings and plays trumpet, bass, guitar and various other instruments as required. His latest project is an ensemble of queer local musicians called Codes.
Tim has been releasing material as a solo artist in recent years under the moniker Tibor
Prior to this his main outfit has been Hopetoun Brown, a minimalist duo of vocals and bass clarinet with a strong vein of blues, jazz and soul running through their work. They have released three albums and performed extensively around New Zealand at large festivals such as WOMAD and Splore and also done many national tours playing in small regional theatres and iconic grass roots venues.
Tim Stewart began his musical career as a founding member and trumpet player for Supergroove. Supergroove are inductees to the New Zealand music hall of fame have a whole bunch of hit songs to their credit. They have played all around the world. Still performing at big shows, their next engagements will be playing with Six60 at Eden Park in Auckland and The Cake Tin in Wellington.
